The Watchman 03/29/2009
The Watchmen We are fit for battle with the help of the watchemen. Who are they? A Watchman sees and hears of the coming danger first. They sound the alarms, they protest by discerning the good from evil. They warn the gatekeepers to keep danger out. This weapon is in place for us in the kingdom of God. Why do we need them? To help us to overcome the battle for our soul, with the watchmen comes many abilities to win over sin and temptation. The Holy Spirit is our watchman. I Corinthians 12:8-10 – Through the gifts of his spirit we are more able to watch for our souls. The spirit gives us wisdom in battle. It gives us understanding through knowledge. It will prophesy the future and discern the battle that we are in. The spirit brings a message through tongues with the interpretation. With this watchman as a weapon how could we fail? Colosians 1:9-12 – (Wisdom) The Holy Spirit, our watchman has made us fit to be partakers through wisdom. Acts 2:17-18 – (Prophecy) The watchman over our souls is prophesying through our sons and daughters, revealing hidden truths. Speaking the truth to set free those who are in captivity. Watchmen speak of the coming future. They see the danger ahead. Matthew 2: 12-13 – The watchman warns us through dreams to protect us. He will guide us in our every step. He knows the future. Hebrews 11:7 – The watchman warns us of every coming disaster so that we will be prepared. How can we prepare for battle if we’re not willing to listen to the watchman? He is the only one who will know first of the coming advent. Acts 10:19-22 – The watchman comes in a vision and he uses his angels to bring forth a message with instructions. I Corinthians 2:14-16 – The lord speaks to us through his spirit, he will warn us when trouble is near. Because he is the watchman, we have the mind of Christ. Hebrews 5:13-14 – Discernment comes from knowing God’s word. We are then able to be weary over the things that don’t line up with the word of God. If the word is in us, we will hear the watchman. Jeremiah 6:10 – The world is uncircumcised, they cannot hear the watchman. The watchman is speaking but the are without discernment, they cannot hear. We have spiritual hearing, so what are they to do? Ezekiel 3:17-21 – Since they cannot hear the watchmen, then we are to become their watchmen and warn them of their wickedness and the coming judgments. We also are called to warn the righteous who have strayed from God and who cannot hear the truth. When David sinned God sent a messenger to reveal his sin to him. He repented and was able to hear the heart that he had for god. Ezekiel 33:1-6 – God has called and anointed leaders over us. They are the watchmen over our souls. They are required to warn us and to prepare us. If they fail, their judgment is greater. For to know to do, and then not do it is sin.) Hebrews 13:17 – Those that God has placed over you are his watchmen. They watch over your souls. They will give an account in the end. You are so fit for battle that you can make it. You are called, you have the gifts of the Holy Spirit in you. The Holy Spirit is your watchman. Add Comment The Army Of The Lord 03/22/2009
The Army Of The Lord Revelation 19:14 – This tells us clearly that we are a part of the lord’s army. We will return w/him in the last days, but until then we are still in his army fighting a spiritual battle against the enemy of our souls. Ephesians 6:10-12 – The war that we are called to fight is not against flesh and blood, it is against the devil in the spiritual realm. I Peter 2:11 – We are all at war with our souls. Our flesh is our enemy. We are not at war with each other, we are at war to overcome the temptations of Satan and be victorious. Romans 7:23 - Our flesh is warring against our minds to bring us into captivity. There is victory over sin through prayer and intercession. Being in his presence wars against evil thoughts. II Corinthians 10:3-5 – Our weapons are received in the spiritual realm, not in the physical. Romans 8:26-28 – In his presence, through his spirit he knows what we need and he will make intercession for us. God will require us to be quiet and let him do the fighting through prayer. Ecclesiastes 9:11-18 – All of us come into battle at one time or another. It could be personal or it could be corporately. These battles are not physical, they are spiritual and they are against your soul and the body. They will effect your mind, then your hearts. But, God has called us to seek him for wisdom, we cannot trust our minds or our emotions. Wisdom is better than all the weapons of war. And this will only come during prayer in his presence. Joel 2:11-13 – The lord’s army is great and he is calling us to do warfare in the heavenlies. The day of the lord is approaching. But how can we go into war unprepared? We need to go to the lord and surrender to prepare for true spiritual warfare. Are we ready to come against the works of Satan? (II Chron 20:17) The way that we do battle is to get before God, without fear and stand and see our lord fight for us. II Chronicles 32:7-8 – When trouble comes, go to the lording prayer instead of the phone. We are stronger in our battles when he is with us. Greater is he that is in me than he who is in the world. Joel 3:9-14 – We are in the time of harvest. We are mighty with God in warfare. Let the weak say I am strong. God is mighty through us and he is telling us to prepare. Do you trust that he will fight for you? If not then you need to prepare. Seek him and be ready. It is battle time. Satan will fight us for the harvest. I Timothy 2:1-2 – We’re in God’s army and we’re called to pray and interceed, especially for those in authority over us. This is where the church has been lacking. Everything is coming apart. We have not taken our positions in his army to fight. We need to hear from God. Ezekiel 22:23-31 – As a soldier in God’s army will we just sit and watch the moral decay of our society? God is looking for someone to stand in the gap. We’re called to intercede and go to war on our knees. We need to seek his wisdom and his strategies. He will fight if we will pray and get his attention for help. Isaiah 59:12-16 – The apostasy and rebellion against God is growing. Truth is failing. Those who desire to live right will need to know how to fight against an evil society. But, here God observes that there is no one who could intercede on the behalf of a sinful nation. So, God had to do it himself through judgment. When God comes in with judgment no one will escape. He has called us into his army to war against our flesh and to war against the works of darkness against the world so that the harvest is plentiful. In His Presence 03/08/2009
In His Presence Fit For Battle II I Corinthians 1:9 – As we have fellowship with God’s son, he is faithful for us. It is all about fellowship with him. Our fellowship with Jesus shows in our relationships with others. Our best example of this truth is marriage. “Two become one flesh.” As we become one with the father we will lose our identity, we will become more like him everyday. We have to change for battle. When Moses was with God his countenance changed. I John 3:6 – We have righteousness through the presence of his son in our lives. Righteousness means here to have the ability to stand before our father in heaven with out guilt or sense of inferiority (I’m not worthy). Our worth comes from the son and in his presence and his work we can go to the throne of God with our requests (communication in battle). Galations 4:6-7 – The Holy Spirit has born witness with our spirits that we are the sons of God now. If we’re not, then we wouldn’t know of his presence, that he is real, and that we are a son. A son hears his father. (In battle you are not alone) I Corinthians 2:10-13 – In His presence the spirit speaks to us and shows us all things to come. In his presence we can hear deep spiritual truths if we will be quiet and listen. Most of the time we’re too busy talking to hear anything. If you’re in a battle do you not want to hear your instructions? Learn to listen, God has a plan. John 3-6 We were born again by his spirit. We need an understanding before we go into battle we have a legal right because we are sons. A son possesses everything of the father. That which is born of flesh is flesh and they will never know of his presence. But you who are of the spirit know of his presence because you are sons! A son seeks safely in the presence of his father. Most of the time when a battle is raging we seek our own wisdom instead of his presence. What could we really do without him? Acts 10:16-26 – Paul demonstrates listening to the lord for instruction. He also demonstrated what to do when trouble is all around and the battle seems to have ended. Paul and Silas got into the presence of God and the earth shook and the chains fell off. In his presence, when you’ve tried everything else, freedom will come. Psalms 68:1-2 – In his presence our enemies are scattered. Tormenting spirits cannot stay in his presence. Remember Saul and David. Luke 1:37 – With God nothing is impossible. When you’re in a battle and you don’t know where to turn or what to do, get into his presence. There is safety and instruction. There is peace and comfort. There is a hiding place away from all of the trouble. Psalms 91 – The lord will fight our battles. In his presence there is nothing to be afraid of. He is in control, no evil can have it’s way with us in his presence. All fear is gone, there is a security and a knowing that as we trust him, and call on him, he will answer us and deliver us from every battle in our life. Remember that no weapon formed against us will prosper. And if God be for us who can be against us? It is in him that we have victory in battle. We must have his presence first, then he will anoint us for service. His presence is inside and the anointing covers. The power of God follows his presence. Fit For Battle I 03/01/2009
